Recently, I read that only a fool makes predictions about things over which they have no control, so I will refrain from doing that as well. What I will say is, I hope the right candidate wins. Who is the right candidate? Well, that is the million-dollar question. I have my opinion but I'm pretty sure my opinion doesn't matter to anyone.
Unless you've been living under a rock, I'm sure you're well aware of the circus this election has become. By now, most people probably can't wait to cast their ballot, no matter which side they are on. As for me, I've already voted (last week) thanks to Oregon's Vote By Mail system.
Mail-in ballots are great. Although denigrated by some, the idea is very popular among the people, including me. I can vote at my leisure, in the comfort of my house, and skip the long lines at the polling booth. But ironically, I don't mail in my ballot. I don't trust the Post Office enough to actually allow them to deliver my ballot on time, or at all for that matter. So, I drop it off at the courthouse myself, which I have done. I'd like to say I'm now patiently waiting for the outcome but I'm not really a patient person so I'll just say I'm waiting.
Presumably, by tomorrow night we will know who the winner is. (I seem to recall the 2000 Election Day fiasco when it took weeks to learn who would be our next president). Some will be happy with the results, others will not. And still, the country will go on. I hope! And for all those who are wondering... No, I'm not going to say who I voted for. Not that I care if anyone knows but I don't feel like starting a World War Three type debate on the Internet. There is already enough of those. What's that? You say that's so unlike me? Well, okay, I did put a clue in this post. No, check that, I spelled it out. Sort of. ~
